Insurance is expensive
Tires are expensive
every other expense is comparable to any new car
gas mileage is o.k. but it’s no prius (the tC has a camry engine)
if you have done research you already know the car is reliable
very versatile, you can change the look after a couple years

If the maintenance has been done the scion is fine. Cars are only as good and safe as the driver. houston is hot!!

I have inspected thousands of ‘flood’ vehicles for insurance. If the floor is only wet from fresh water then the car can be repaired without much hassle and very little future problems. The main issue you will have right now is getting your vehicle to a quality repairer that is familiar with flood damage and repair techniques. Don’t start it (if you haven’t already) — have it towed. The carpet needs to be removed and the felt backing will have to be replaced. The carpet itself will be fine after shampooing. All electronic modules that are located on the floor or were submerged will have to be replaced. The rest of the work is just a matter of flushing affected mechanical components, cleaning, deodorizing, lube, and reassembling. It’s all pretty straight forward and you should not have any issues in the future.
If it was salt or brackish water, then it’s a whole different game….. ugh.

Floor pan rust and mildew will most likely be the worst of it. I’d worry more if it reached your wiring, because then you would have major electrical problems.

You may want to have the trans axles or rear end checked to see if water entered them as well as checking the transmission to see if any water leaked into it.

I would think you could be arrested and have the vehicle impounded. A seriously stupid thing to do.

IDk about texas but in new hampshire if your caught you lose your license until your 18, now adays laws are really harsh for teenagers.

You will be arrested and may not be able to get your license for a year. If you are under 18 you will not be able to get it until 18 if you are caught.

You have no record of who your INSURANCE company was at that time?

The lawyer doesn’t matter. You need the adjuster. And for seven years ago . . . the whole file is probably in storage.

There’s no website.

If you were in court, then the attorney is a matter of public record – just go down to your courthouse and look it up.
